A Clinical Study with SCH411 Cream in the Treatment of Several Dermatoses



Abstract
SCH 411 cream is a new combination of clotrimazole, a topical antifungal, betamethasone dipropionate, a topical steroid, and gentamicin sulfate, a topical antibiotic.
The study to evaluate the its therapeutic response was undertaken in 62 cases of dermatoses including 14 cases of contact dermatitis, 10 cases of atopic dermatitis, 7 cases of neurodermatitis, 8 cases of spborrheic dermatitis, 8 cases of impetigo, aid 15 cases of dermatophytosis. The patients visited the Department of Dermatology in Ewha Woman¡¯s University Hospital from September 1984 to October 1984 and were treated with SCH 411 cream, two-times daily.
The results are summarized as follows;
1) Among 62 patients, it revealed complete cure or excellent effect in 24 patients (38.7%), good effect in 22 patients (35.5%) and fair effect in 9 patients (1.4.5%).
2) Effective therapeutic response was noted in 85.7 % of patients with contact dermatitis, 80% of atopic dermatitis, 85.7% of neurodermatitis, 100% of seborrheic dermatitis, 87.5% of impetigo, and 93.3% of dermatophytosis.
3) During the observation period, there was no incidence of side effect or sensitivity.
